National Minimum Wage increases October 2016
On 1st October 2016 the National Minimum Wage rates will increase.

• The minimum wage for 21-24 year olds will be £6.95 an hour
• The Youth Development Rate, affecting 18-20 year olds, will be £5.55 an hour
• The rate for 16-17 year olds will be £4.00 an hour.
• The Apprentice rate will be £3.40 an hour

Please note that the National Living Wage remains the same at £7.20 per hour until April next year. This is the last time you will see changes to these rates in October. Future changes to the National Minimum Wage and the National Living Wage will take place at the same time from April 2017.
