The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2016
This Order has just been laid before Parliament. It increases the limits applying to certain awards of employment tribunals, and other amounts payable under employment legislation. It applies to dismissals (or detriments, etc.) occurring on or after 6 April 2016.

The main changes are:-

* The cap on a week's pay increases to £479 (currently £475). This applies to the calculation of redundancy payments being made for those employees dismissed on or after 6th April 2016.

* The maximum compensatory award increases to £78,962 (currently £78,335).

However, the limit on amount of a guarantee payment payable to an employee in respect of any workless day is kept at £26.
