Rate increases for Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Shared Parental Leave from 5th April 2015
The set rate for SMP, SPP, SAP and ShPP will increase from £138.18 per week to £139.58 from 5 April 2015.
The first six weeks of maternity pay are paid at a higher rate of 90% of the employee's average weekly earnings (the earnings-related rate). The first six weeks of adoption pay, along with other increased adoption rights, are expected to be brought into line with maternity pay from 5 April 2015 so that it will entitle the main adopter to six weeks of the earnings-related rate.
