Increase to the awards payable for Unfair Dismissal from 6 April 2014
The maximum statutory cap to the compensatory award payable for Unfair Dismissal claims will increase from the current cap of £74,200 to £76,574 with effect from 6 April 2014, This is of course subject to the limit of one year's pay.

The maximum for a week's pay is also increased from £450 to £464 from that date. This weekly pay figure is also used as the cap for redundancy pay calculations for any redundancy occurring on or after that date.

Note that the increases have been delayed from their usual annual implementation date of February. It is expected that all future changes will continue to happen in April each year.
