New Compensation Limits from February 2012
The new compensation limits have recently been published by the Government.

From 1 February 2012 the maximum ‘week’s pay’ used to calculate statutory redundancy payments and the basic award for unfair dismissal will increase from £400 to £430. The maximum compensatory award in unfair dismissal claims will also increase from £68,400 to £72,300.

These new rates only apply in relation to events that occur on or after 1st February 2012, so if you are planning redundancies and they are made in January, the current £400 per week maximum will still apply.
