Advertising - Where, What & How?
Deciding where to advertise the vacancy will depend on the sort of role you wish to fill and the sort of skills you need the candidates to have.

For example, if you are looking for someone with good IT skills, then you could consider using a web-based job board. There are many of these around, so choose carefully. Do you want one that specialises in the particular function, or are you more interested in finding someone locally?

The local press is often a good vehicle to publish adverts and you can often ask to go on their online jobs section as well. Check their prices and publication deadlines to make sure that it will go in the right edition to meet your timescale.

You might also consider specialist publications. Think about where the people with the skills you are seeking. Where would they look?

Make sure that your advert includes;

* What the organisation/ does, and where the job fits in (main duties);

* Location and salary range;

* How you want candidates to apply (e.g. CV or application form) and closing date.
