Using Occupational Health
When asking for an opinion from an OH adviser make sure that he/she has a copy of the employee’s job description and that you ask relevant but specific questions so that any report:

• provides information about the employee’s fitness to attend work, to do their own job, and any requirements for adjusted duties (length of working hours, type of job, etc);
• indicates the likely timescale for improvements;
• comments on any plan for further investigations or treatment;
• indicates the likely final outcome and if applicable, any potential long-term disability issues.
