Rate Changes April 2019
There is a statutory cap on the amount of a week's pay with regard to certain entitlements and rights, for example statutory redundancy payments.

From 6 April 2019, this increases from £508 to £525. There are also certain maximum amounts in relation to other compensation payments and awards, for example in relation to most unfair compensation awards.

This brings the maximum basic unfair dismissal award to £15,240 (with the compensatory award being capped at £83,682 or 52 actual weeks' pay if this is lower.)

The other statutory increased rates for Maternity, paternity and sick pay have also been increased.

The Standard rate for Maternity/ Paternity/ Adoption/ Shared Parental pay will be increased to £148.68 up from £145.18 with the earnings threshold raised for £116 per week to £118. This follows the payment of 90% of salary for the first six weeks of leave (where eligible.)

Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) is being increased from £92.05 to £94.25 per week.
