How are you looking after your staff’s wellbeing?
In a recent poll, it was found that only 44% of employers have a wellbeing strategy in place that tied together both the physical and mental wellbeing of staff. Given that we have now had a year when many people have either been furloughed or working from home, it is likely that some staff are now struggling – perhaps with the physical effects of not enough exercise (or an inappropriate diet); mental ill health issues relating to being isolated from friends and colleagues; or worrying about the safety of returning to work.
The survey of 332 HR professionals by Aon also found that only 22% said that they were not planning on devising a strategy and 70% said that there was no designated budget for health and wellness of their staff.
If this is something that is concerning you and you would like a way of finding out how your staff are currently coping, Cherington HR can help. We can arrange for you to survey your staff using questions designed by WeThrive to identify the areas that your staff are struggling with. The initial survey is free and will produce a stress “heat map” which will tell you what the key issues are; provide ideas of actions you can take to support your employees; and some resources to help you do that.
