Do your pay and bonuses stand up to scrutiny?
The government is pushing ahead with plans to compel large companies to publish data on the pay gap between male and female employees in their organisation. The intention to require organisations with more than 250 employees to be subject to gender pay audits from the first half of 2016 onwards was announced earlier this year and a consultation has been in place to look into how this would work.

The requirements will apply to large private, public and voluntary sector employers. This week the government has announced that it will also include the requirement to publish information about bonuses paid to both men and women.

There has also been a push from Frances O'Grady, TUC General Secretary to extend this further to medium sized organisations. This isn't likely to happen just yet, but even if the new regulations won't apply to you next year, it may be worth reviewing your pay arrangements to see if there are any historical inequalities that need to be addressed.
